Riki has been a jewelry designer and teacher for seventeen years. After retiring from a career in radio sales and management, she returned to her passion of art. She found a love for mixed media and jewelry design, and then studied with those she most admired in that craft. Riki travels as far away as France to shop their flea markets whenever she can, hoping to find the perfect vintage objects to set her romantic creations apart.
You could have found her designs in juried art festivals, as well as various boutiques, until recently. She has chosen to now devote her time to teaching nationally. Some of her work may be found at retreats where she teaches.
Because teaching has become extremely rewarding for Riki, she now devotes the majority of her creative time to that. Previously on the faculty at Adorn Me in Houston, her current line up for national mixed media retreats includes Vivi Magoo in Tucson, Art is You in Petaluma, and Art Unraveled in Phoenix. She has been asked to teach in Los Angeles at Make Art in LA, in addition to a few smaller venues throughout the year. She is also a valued instructor with the very successful on-line art retreat Artful Gathering, this being her third year. She has been published a number of times in the prestigious Stampington art publications, Jewelry Affaire and Belle Armoire Jewelry.
